Where Art & Design Combine

In this class, kids bringcharacters to life by designing a simple cartoon and turning it into a short animation.

All materials and technology are provided.

Our 10-year-old daughter participated in two Kaper Kids Canva workshops and absolutely loved them. Crystal is a fun and knowledgeable teacher who adapts her teaching to each child’s skill level and learning style. Our daughter was excited to work on her project every week, even continuing at home without any prompting. We were all so impressed with the final product she created by the end of the session. Tim

Cartoon Animation

What the class looks like.

Kids learn how to create a story, build characters, create scenes, and add movement frame-by-frame.

By the end, each student leaves with their own animated cartoon clip they can proudly share and keep building on at home.

My son has had wonderful experiences at several Kaper Kids programs. He was encouraged to dive into his unique interests, express his creativity, and share what makes him who he is . He always looks forward to camp days, and when I pick him up, he has the biggest smile on his face. The one-on-one attention has helped him learn and develop computer skills that we simply don’t have the time or expertise to teach at home.

He came home with a printed magazine that so perfectly embodies him and is now a keepsake our family will treasure for years to come.

Things You Might Be Wondering

Each design school session is $297

Groups are kept small to on purpose so that I can give the best support, connection, and collaboration. This allows for more individual guidance and a smoother experience.

Many kids thrive here because the structure is clear, the activities are purposeful, and the group stays small. If your child benefits from specific support (e.g., transitions, sensory needs, anxiety), please contact me before camp so we can plan for success. crystal@kaperkids.com.

Each day includes a mix of guided instruction and hands-on creation time. We start with a quick warm-up and then learn a new Canva skill. After that, kids work on their own projects while the instructor circulates to help guide projects.

Halfway through class we do a quick dance/move break to reset brains and burn off the wiggles. Then we jump back into finishing the class.

If your child has allergies or dietary needs, please include details during registration. I can accommodate many common needs.

As an allergy parent myself, I understand the concern of sending your kid to a new environment. Please email me at crystal@kaperkids.com ahead of time.

Please send:

  • A water bottle

  • A good sized snack (We use a lot of energy -thinking as deeply as we do in Design School)

Meet CRYSTAL

I’ve always loved kids who think a little differently—probably because I’m one of them.

I created Kaper Camps to give kids a place to not only have adventures but to sneak math and reading into their summer time fun. Without them even realizing they are still learning - All Summer Long!
